Together for Our Oceans: Collaborating to Protect Marine Life
Working with illustrator Molly Humphries
First Meeting
The first meeting that took place discussed the overarching topic of sustainability and conservation for ocean life. This initial meeting created the pathway to the collaboration throughout the entire design process. During this meeting Molly began to design the logo and branding options to be used throughout the product design and brand identity.

The Logo
After our initial meeting the logo was then created by Molly, SaveOceans designed in a water droplet shape.
Plastic Testing
After the logo was designed, material testing took place imprinting the logo within plastic bottle lids taken from the oceans. This was an experiment to see if the nature of the material was able to take the logo design. The test material cards were each created by 9 bottle lids.

Products
After material testing the logo and branding was then added to the bottles. As collaborators we decided to add the logo to the top to allow for maximum visibility of the logo, with aims of increasing the visibility of the message.
Packaging
Once the products were designed and produced, we proceeded to develop the packaging with two primary objectives: ensuring sustainability and enhancing interactivity. Our aim was to elevate the product's value curve while also minimising environmental waste. To achieve this, we utilised Notpla's sustainable seaweed-based paper and incorporated Molly's character icons, which can be coloured in and repurposed as a wall poster.

Brand Extensions
After creating the product and packaging we wanted to take it a step further, but how? As all of the materials were sourced from ocean and water stream waste we decided that a beach-clean up kit was the best option. Including; a tote bag with a keyring made from 2 plastic bottle lids, t-shirt, beach towel, gloves, and cap.
